Frequently Asked Questions

Do you guys have a shop location or do you come to me?

We are a fully mobile auto detailing service. If you don't have sufficient space to have your car detailed at home or work, we can make other arrangements to detail your car at a public landmark.

Do you do PPF too? What's the difference between PPF and ceramic coating?

No, we don't install PPF or vinyl wrap. PPF and vinyl wrap are custom fitted stickers, in essence, to go over each panel of your car. Ceramic coating is a liquid substance applied by hand that will cure and harden over time to form a glass shield over the entire car, permanently enhancing the gloss, shine, and even the color of the paint. PPF on the entire car is ideal for track cars and off-road vehicles. PPF tends to enhance the orange peel effect of your car's paint making it look repainted, and most films are more porous than the car's clear coat, inviting more dirt and contaminants to stain the film. For our customers who insist on getting PPF installed, we strongly recommend having the car ceramic coated first to provide a barrier between the film and the car's paint. PPF shops will tell you the film won't bind to the car if there's any wax or coating on it. We're here to tell you that's not true. Our company owners have several exotics that were coated by our detailers then wrapped with PPF over 6 years ago; and there have never been problems with the film coming off or bubbling. It's one of the wrap shop's marketing tools to upsell their ceramic coating to you after they've held your car hostage in their shop wrapping it for days or weeks. If you have us ceramic coat your car before getting it wrapped, we'll come back and coat the film/wrap at no extra cost to you.

How long does it take to do the work?

For routine detailing, cars: 3-5 hours, trucks/minivans/SUVs: 4-6 hours. If the car is in bad condition, it can take longer and possibly cost more in dirty fees. For ceramic coatings, it takes 3-5 hours depending on the size of the car, its condition, and the coating lifespan desired. If paint correction is needed, that adds 3-6 more hours depending on the amount of swirls to be removed.

I spilled something in my car/Someone threw up in my car. Just a basic interior clean & shampoo will take care of that, right?

No. While an interior detail with shampoo & hot water extraction will definitely help clean the spill/stains out, it will likely not remove the smell entirely. If you're on a budget, we'll work with you the best we can. But also understand the hazards and efforts our detailer will have to undergo to render the best result possible without working for free, in essence. The most absolute method to eliminate any foul residual odors is to Ozone treat your interior cabin after doing a heavy clean-out, disinfection, shampoo, and hot water extraction. And in short, if something has spilled or if someone has thrown up in your car, that needs to be disclosed prior to us sending a detailer to you so they can be fully prepared to tackle the mission at hand and give you the best possible result.

How does the ceramic coating warranty work?

Each coating warranty listed covers the expected lifespan of the coating. If you purchase the 2-year coating, expect it to last up to 2 years, etc. Your warranty is void when the car is taken to any drive-thru car wash, "detailing center," or hand wash car wash facility. This also includes "detailing services" that may be provided at your local auto shop or dealership when you take your car in for service. Be advised that bird droppings and bug splats will stain and etch through your coating if not cleaned off immediately. Ceramic coatings are strong and durable, but they weren't created to withstand blunt physical and chemical damage. It is encouraged from the ceramic coating companies to have your car washed and maintained professionally by those that installed the coating, which is a discounted service we offer. If you feel that's not ideal, it is encouraged to wash the car yourself with a pressure washer and deionized water with minimal contact as to not introduce new scratches into your ceramic coating. You don't need any fancy expensive soaps, foam cannon washes, or 3 different wash buckets with mitts and sponges. All you need is a good working pressure washer, a purified/deionized water, pressurized air supply to blow dry the car (i.e. a leaf blower), and plushy soft edgeless towels to buff dry any remaining water. Spray waxes and spray sealants are safe to use after to give an enhanced glossy finish. No clay bar, no hand or machine polishing, no compounding, and no hand wax or paste wax.

What is Ozone Treatment and how does it work? Why does it cost so much?

Ozone is the chemical compound O3 used to remove odors, bacteria, and viruses. An ozone generator will be placed inside your vehicle for a designated amount of time, depending on the strength of the odor, while your car is running with high/full recirculating AC on. As the gas permeates your car, the foul odor is neutralized and any bacteria and viruses are killed. Ozone generators are used in hospitals, hotel rooms, and car dealerships to purify and freshen the air within an enclosed space. We charge an hourly rate for ozone because your car will need to be running during the entire treatment, and our detailers cannot leave the generator nor your vehicle unattended for safety purposes. Ozone treatment is recommended to remove foul odors from cigarette/marijuana smoke, food/drink spills, vomit and other bodily fluids, mold/mildew, or to give your car's interior a refresh.

Why do other detailers and mobile car wash guys charge less than you?

Their business model is to sell high volume, low quality car washes masqueraded as auto detailing to lure in most people looking to "get the best deal". This often leaves disappointing results and makes a customer feel like they wasted money despite paying a cheaper price.. Be cautious out there as there is an endless supply of 'mobile auto detailing services' on Google, Yelp, or Nextdoor that do not have any loyalty or respect to their customers. They want to give you a speedy car wash for the price of an undercut cheap detail to get your money. A word of friendly advice for anyone reading this, there are lots of shams out there! Invest your money wisely with a reputable, knowledgable, and transparent functioning auto detailer. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You certainly get what you pay for in the auto detailing industry.

How do I maintain my ceramic coating? What voids my warranty?

We've just ceramic coated your car and it's starting to look dusty. As we discussed at your appointment, do not wash the car for 3 weeks so the coating can cure and harden without interference. The car may be driven as soon as we're done, but avoid driving in wet, muddy, or snowy conditions for at least 3 weeks. You also need to avoid parking near water sprinklers or under trees to avoid staining and compromised ceramic coating integrity from hard water, bird droppings, and tree sap. When washing your car, we recommend using a high-pressure power washer and deionized water (reverse osmosis water, alkaline water, distilled water; any purified water that isn't sourced directly from your water tap; no spring water or mineral water!). You don't need soap, you don't need the fancy foam cannon. Just power wash the car, gently wipe off bugs or pollen as needed if it doesn't come off during the wash, blow-dry with a leaf blower, and use any spray wax/sealant to enhance the coating's shine. If you don't want to buy what's needed to do this, we offer a discounted maintenance wash service so you don't need to deal with any of the stressors of being a do-it-yourselfer. You may also visit your local DIY car wash. Just use their power washer high-pressure rinse, follow with a spot-free rinse, blow dry, done. Do not use the car wash's soaps, they're loaded with degreasers and acid cleaners that will break down your ceramic coating. And do not use their big push broom brush to clean the car, unless you want scratches and swirls everywhere. Avoid machine drive-thru washes and avoid touch-less drive-thru washes.

When you take your car in for a service (maintenance, recall, etc), do not let your dealer or service company wash, or in their words, "detail," the car when they're done. 9 times out of 10 they take your car to a drive-thru machine wash and use all the awful soaps and re-used towels and don't care about inflicting damage to your car. In the off chance they hand wash, they're still using hardened tap water which is harsh on coatings and there's always the risk of permanent staining if they don't wipe it all off. As long as it looks clean, it's detailed in their minds. These things will void your warranty. Damage to your ceramic coating from neglect, etchings and staining from bird droppings, bug guts, or tree sap, hard water staining from parking next to sprinklers or using hose water, abuse from improper washing, off-roading, car accidents, things that affect your ceramic coating after we've installed it that do not have to do with how we installed it, will not be recoated for free under warranty. However, if you find high spots or smudges from excess ceramic coating that wasn't wiped off completely and isn't wiping off after we've coated your car, please let us know and we will come back to remove the blemishes and recoat at no cost to you.
